We can reschedule individual cat visit sessions and cat yoga classes. Please provide at least 4 hours advance notice for rescheduling. Private sessions can also be rescheduled, but must be rescheduled 48 hours in advance to avoid charges. Beset with the myriad challenges posed by the pandemic, El Gato emerged with the intention of making the necessary funds to house 14 – 20 foster cats. Thus, El Gato Charities was formed to work in tandem with El Gato Coffeehouse, Houston’s only cat cafe and rescue. For individual visits with cats, children must be over age 5 and 12 is the minimum age for yoga with cats. All childern under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. If you are interested in being one of the first to check out the new location, you'll select sessions in the Cat Studio. We'll continue to offer sessions in our original Cat Cottage location as well.
When booking, select the button for your desired location. Private group reservations are $110 and covers 6 people. Additional guests (over 6) can join a private session for a cost of $18/person.

We depend on our guest's cover to support the cost of our beautiful facilities in the Heights, our wonderful caring staff and for the vetting costs and supplies provided to our resident cats. We are only able to provide this service because our customers and donors see the value in our mission of adopting cats in a comfortable, stress-free environment. After making some short term adjustments, like reducing opening hours, things have bounced back stronger than ever. Visits with cats - Individual sessions are for one person, each person needs a separate individual booking. Private sessions are a group booking covering up to 6 people for 1 hour. Additional guests are welcome for the privates, but will be charged $18/ person upon entry with a max capacity of 20 people. We do host kid birthday parties as a private booking, however, this is only available for ages 9 and over in order to maintain a peaceful enviroment for our cats.
